    • MCA-Accredited 3-Day Ship Security Officer (SSO) Course Overview:
    Whether you wish to work as part of a Maritime Asset Security Team (MAST) or in the more official capacity of a Ship Security Officer (SSO) on a luxury super yacht, a cruise liner, an oil or bulk cargo tanker or any other type of vessel, you will be required to demonstrate your knowledge and expertise as a maritime security specialist. The ESTS International MCA-Accredited, 3-Day Ship Security Officer (SSO) course is designed specifically for individuals who wish to either gain more knowledge in their current maritime security field, or wish to move into maritime security as a MCA-Accredited Ship Security Officer (SSO). The course also covers the relevant areas (section A/2.1.6 and section A/12.1) as defined in the International Ship & Port Facilities Security (ISPS) code and (Part 104, subpart B, 105.215) the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) and their use. This intensive and very informative course is instructed by MCA-Accredited Ship Security Officers / Trainers and former Royal Marines Commandos who were members of the Elite Comacchio Group RM, now known as Fleet Protection Group (FPG) RM with an average of 15 years experience in the industry. This course can be instructed at our training facilities or at your location pending authorisation.

    The course certificate is issued under the authority of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, an executive agency of the Department for Transport.  The course complies with STCW Code Chapter A-VI Table A-VI/5 Specifications of minimum standards of the proficiency for Ship Security Officers.
